The log flume ride appears partially dismantled in a photograph that has surfaced on social media.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Demolition of Kennywood’s beloved Log Jammer has begun, as evidenced by a photograph that has surfaced on social media.

A photo submitted anonymously to the Kennywood Connections Facebook page taken from the Kennywood Boulevard Bridge shows the log flume ride partially dismantled, with the Racer roller coaster also visible in the shot.

Kennywood in September announced the ride would be closing after 42 years. The Log Jammer debuted in 1975 as the amusement park's first million-dollar ride.

Kennywood has yet to divulge what might go in the large space the ride occupied. But rumors have persisted for years that the amusement park has plans for a new roller coaster.

Kennywood’s 2018 season begins April 28 for pass holders and May 5 for everyone else.
