Services Set For Nick Theofilis, Pgh.-Area Paramedic Killed In Crash
The Penn Hills paramedic died following the Sunday night crash in Pittsburgh's Shadyside neighborhood.
PENN HILLS, PA — Funeral arrangements have been made for Nick Theofilis, the Penn Hills paramedic who died following a crash Sunday night in Shadyside.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the William F. Gross Funeral Home on Frankstown Road in Penn Hills. Funeral prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Susanna Church on Stotler Road in Penn Hills.
Mr. Theofilis, 23, died following a crash involving the ambulance he was driving and another vehicle at the intersection of Fifth and Morewood avenues. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found him in cardiac arrest; he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mr. Theofilis was a 2017 graduate of Penn Hills High School, where he began his EMT training.
