Severe Weather Risk Returns To Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — The risk of severe storms will be prevalent in the Pittsburgh area this week.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight ahead of a cold front. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, although large hail or a tornado cannot be ruled out.

The severe storms threat returns on Wednesday along the cold front as it stalls. The strongest storms could contain damaging wind gusts and large hail.

The chance of showers and storms will persist through the weekend.
