Shake Shack To Open First Pittsburgh Location
The New York-based chain known for burgers and milkshakes said its new location will open in Pittsburgh's Strip District.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Shake Shack, a popular fast-food chain known for its burgers and decadent milkshakes, will open its first Pittsburgh location later this month, the company announced Wednesday.
In a news release, the New York-based chain said its new location will open on May 20 in Pittsburgh's Strip District, located at 1767 Smallman St.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned at 10 a.m. Guests who attend the event will receive custom totes, stickers, and postcards in collaboration with local gift shop Love, Pittsburgh, according to a news release.

On opening day, the company will also donate $1 from every sandwich sold to local nonprofit 412 Food Rescue, which works to reduce food waste by redirecting it to people experiencing food insecurity.
The Terminal Shack location will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Guests can use the Shake Shack app to order ahead for pickup or delivery.

The Terminal Shack will be the company's 14th Pennsylvania location and the second outside the Philadelphia region. A second Pittsburgh Shake Shack location is planned for the city’s East Liberty neighborhood, TribLive reported. An opening date has not been announced.
Shake Shack was founded in 2004 and serves made-to-order burgers, chicken sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries and handspun milkshakes.
