Snow Accumulation On The Way For Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — Western Pennsylvania could see more than two inches of snow Friday night into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow showers and possible brief squalls also are possible north of the city along Interstate 80 Saturday. This could lead to brief white out conditions and create potential hazardous travel.

State College-based AccuWeather predicts one to three inches of accumulation. The Weather Channel expects one inch of snow to fall.

Snow has been a rarity thus far this winter in the Pittsburgh area. Currently, Pittsburgh is 18.2 inches below normal for the season with a meager 11.6 inches reported, according to the weather service.

Expect that trend to continue into next week, as high temperatures are expected to be in the 40s and 50s.
