Snow Triggers Pittsburgh Traffic Tie-Ups, School Delays

Find out here if any additional accumulation is on the way.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The winter weather advisory has expired, but overnight snow in the region prompted numerous school delays, slowed the morning commute and appears to have contributed to an accident that snarled traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The turnpike accident involving two tractor trailers occurred between the Cranberry and Butler Valley exits around 4 a.m. and initially prompted the closure of both eastbound lanes. The lanes since have reopened.

No major traffic accidents were reported in the Pittsburgh metro area during the morning rush hour, but traffic was moving slowly.
