PITTSBURGH, PA - Just because the St. Patrick's Day Parade has been cancelled doesn't mean there isn't a lot to do in Pittsburgh this weekend. Here are some parade-free alternatives:
- Wigle Whiskey Distillery Grand Opening Party, March 16, 6 p.m., 2401 Smallman St., Strip District.
The fine folks at Wigle unveil their newly expanded tasting room and restaurant. Here’s your first chance to get a look at Wigle’s tasting room, restaurant, cocktail bar and bottle shop and wander their tasting room, repeal room and labeling party room.
- Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show, March 13-14, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., March 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Here's a final weekend to shop in a marketplace that's 10 acres in size and has more than 1,900 exhibits in the 39th annual home and garden show. - Pittsburgh Electronic Music Record Fair, March 14, 1-6 p.m., Ace Hotel, East Liberty
For those looking for something to do after the parade, about two dozen vendors will be selling records, CDs, tapes, gear and memorabilia of all styles of electronic music. DJs will provide a soundtrack as you browse.
