Steelers' Antonio Brown Responds To Allegations In 2 Lawsuits

The wide receiver makes his first comments on the distracting litigation.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Antonio Brown broke his silence Thursday on two lawsuits against him that came to light. One lawsuit accused him of nearly hitting a toddler with furniture thrown from the balcony of his condominium, while the other alleges Brown failed to pay for damage he caused to that condo unit.

“It has now been made public that two lawsuits containing false claims have been filed against me,” Brown stated in a tweet by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “The facts will soon come out that prove my innocence. My focus will remain on football and I will not let the cases serve as a distraction.”

In April, Brown reported the theft of $80,000 and a gun from his luxury apartment in Florida a day before he allegedly threw vases, an ottoman and other items from the 14th floor of his Florida condo. The parent of a 22-month-old boy is suing Brown, claiming the child was nearly killed by the tossed items.

The owner of the condo also is suing Brown, contending he didn’t pick up the cost of damage he did to the unit. Brown signed a six-month lease for the condo in February and agreed to pay $35,000 a month in rent.

Brown and the Steelers play the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
