Steelers Deal Veteran Player Hours Before Roster Cutdown Deadline
As the Steelers worked to set their 53-man roster Tuesday, they traded a veteran player and former starter.
PITTSBURGH, PA — With the 53-man roster deadline looming, the Steelers on Tuesday traded former third-round pick Kendrick Green to the Houston Texans. The Steelers will receive a sixth-round pick in return.
The news first was reported by the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Green started at center during his 2021 rookie season but was severely overmatched. He was inactive for every game during the 2022 season and there were significant doubts about his ability to make the team this year.
