Steelers Fan Blitz, Stars On Ice Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA - With the NFL Draft whetting football fans’ appetites for the 2018 football season this weekend, the time is perfect for the Steelers annual Fan Blitz. Expect to meet some of the team’s 2018 draft selections there.

The event, which occurs Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Heinz Field, also will allow fans to visit the Steelers’ locker room and take photos next to their favorite players’ lockers. There will youth skill session at the south end of the field at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. conducted by Steeler Roosevelt Nix and a player to be determined. At the north end of the field, there will be field goal kicking, a quarterback challenge and the jugs machine to catch punts.

Steelers Fan Blitz tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

  • Stars on Ice, April 27, 7:30 p.m., PPG Paints Arena, Uptown

The best of the U.S. Olympic skating team that competed in Pyeongchang will be on hand for an evening of spectacular skating. Among those performing are 2018 Olympic bronze medalists Maia & Alex Shibutani and members of America’s Olympic bronze medal-winning team of Nathan Chen, Adam Rippon, Mirai Nagasu, Bradie Tennell and Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue.
Stars on Ice tickets start at $25.

  • Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals, April 27-28, 7:05 p.m., April 29, 1:35 p.m., PNC Park.

Here’s your chance to fill what thus far this season has been a sparsely filled best ballpark in America. Not only are the Bucs taking on a division rival, there are promotions for every day of the season. Friday is Umbrella Night (they give you one, you don’t have to bring one), Saturday is Zambelli Fireworks Bat Day and Sunday is Kids Mini-Bat Day.

  • Cultural Cocktails, April 28, 7:30 p.m., Benedum Center, Downtown

Explore the artistry and imagination behind your favorite drinks and spirits, which will be prepared by some of the most exclusive restaurants in Pittsburgh. Participating bars and restaurants include Bakersfield, Braddock’s, BRGR, The Commoner, Eddie Merlot's, Luke Wholey's Wild Alaskan Grille, Maggie’s Farm Rum House 7 + Above and Beyond Catering, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto and Mallorca.

Who can resist a flight of breakfast beers and all-you-can-eat pancakes? Beers include Founders KBS,Six Point's Barrel Aged Righteous, Single Cut Great Magnetic Field Oak Aged & Evil Twin/Westbrook Imperial Mexican Biscotti Cake Break. Pancake toppings include cream, butter, syrup, blueberries and strawberries. This is one of the concluding events of an incredible Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week.
