Steelers Rank Among World's Most Valuable Franchises: Forbes

PITTSBURGH, PA - It's been a good month for the Steelers. The Steel Curtain, Pennsylvania's tallest roller coaster and the signature component of the new Steelers Country at Kennywood, made its much-anticipated debut. And the team once again was included in Forbes' annual ranking of the 50 most valuable sports franchises on earth.

Forbes says the Steelers are worth $2.59 billion - a 5 percent increase over 2018. That puts them 30th out of world's top 50 football, baseball, basketball and soccer teams. They ranked 31st
last year.

The most valuable franchise, for the fourth straight year, is the Dallas Cowboys. They are worth $5 billlion, a 4 percent increase over 2018.

Twenty-six NFL teams made the list, as did nine Major League Baseball teams, eight soccer teams and seven NBA teams.

The 10 most valuable franchises:
10. Los Angeles Dodgers (MLB): $3.3 billion.
10. New York Giants (NFL): $3.3 billion.
9. Golden State Warriors (NBA): $3.5 billion.
8. Los Angeles Lakers (NBA): $3.7 billion
7. New England Patriots (NFL): $3.8 billion.
6. Manchester United (Soccer): $3.81 billion
5. New York Knicks (NBA): $4 billion
4. Barcelona (Soccer)): $4.02 billion
3. Real Madrid (Soccer): $4.2 billion.
2. New York Yankees (MLB): $4.6 billion
1. Dallas Cowboys (NFL): $5 billion.
