Steelers' Roethlisberger Out For The Season
The quarterback will have elbow surgery, the team announced Monday.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger needs elbow surgery and is out for the season, the team announced Monday.
"Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI on his right elbow Sunday evening and it was determined by the Steelers’ medical team that surgery will be required," Coach Mike Tomlin said in a statement. "We expect the surgery will be scheduled for this week. He will be placed on our reserve-injured listand is out for the season."
Roethlisberger left the game in the second quarter of the Steelers' 28-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. After grimacing in obvious discomfort several times after releasing passes before leaving the game, he watched the second half from the sideline in a baseball cap.

Second-year quarterback Mason Rudolph is now the team's starter.
The Steelers fell to 0-2 on the season with Sunday's loss. They travel to San Francisco next week to play the 49ers.
