Steelers Star Out For Weeks, May Need Surgery: Reports
As if the devastating loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday wasn't enough, one of the Steelers best players could be sidelined at length.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward could be lost to the team for an extended period after suffering a groin injury during Sunday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, according to multiple reports.
The NFL Network's Ian Rappaport and others reported that Heyward could be placed on injured reserve. That would keep him out for a minimum of four games.
Heyward is in his 13th season with the Steelers and has been one of the team's defensive anchors during that time.

Coach Mike Tomlin is expected to address Heyward's status - and that of other Steelers hurt during Sunday's game, including wide receiver Diontae Johnson and tight end Pat Friermuth - at his weekly news conference on Tuesday.
