Steelers Uniforms Rank Among NFL's Best: Sporting News

With many NFL teams updating their looks, the Sporting News annually reviews each team's uniforms.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Steelers didn't come close to a championship last season, but the Sporting News considers their uniforms championship-caliber. In the website's just-released rankings of the NFL's coolest uniforms, the Steelers ranked third among the league's 32 teams.

The Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks' uniforms were rated ahead of the Steelers.

"Pittsburgh's traditional, black-and-yellow uniforms look as good in 2019 as they
always have, and their all-black Color Rush look is a nice deviation once or twice a year," the Sporting News' Todd Halslop wrote.

"We actually think the Steelers could experiment more with those black pants. They would look great as part of the road combination, with the white jerseys and black helmets. They also would work with Pittsburgh's traditional black home jerseys."

What makes the Cowboys and Seahawks uniforms better? Halslop called Dallas' Cowboys star blue look "equally iconic and unique," while the Seahawks "have four jersey color options and four pants color options to pair with their sharp looking navy blue helmets. Seattle takes full-advantage of all those options."

Steelers fans will be elated to learn that the New England Patriots have what the Sporting News considers the NFL's ugliest uniforms and badly in need of an update.
