Steelers Value Skyrockets Dramatically: Forbes

In its annual ranking of NFL team valuations, Forbes noted that the Steelers have experienced a significant increase in value.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The value of the Pittsburgh Steelers increased 16 percent according to annual NFL team value estimates compiled by Forbes and released Tuesday.

The Steelers are valued at $4.625 billion,according to Forbes. That ranks them 18th among NFL teams. Compared to their NFL North rivals, the Steelers are tied with the Baltimore Ravens in value, one sport ahead of the Cleveland Browns at $4.2 billion.

The Cincinnati Bengals may have had better seasons on the field in recent seasons than their division foes. But the team ranked last in valuation at $3.5 billion.

The Steelers principal owners are Art Rooney II and the Daniel Rooney Trust. Dan Rooney, Art Rooney II's father, died in 2017. The Rooney family has owned the franchise since 1933, when it was purchased for $2,500.

That's considerably less than the $548 million in revenue and the $96 million in operating income the team generated in 2022, according to Forbes. The team had $272 million in player expenses and $79 million in gate receipts.

1. Dallas Cowboys: $9 billion.

2. New England Patriots: $7 billion.

3. Los Angeles Rams $6.9 billion.

4. New York Giants: $6.8 billion.

5. Chicago Bears $6.3 billion.

6. Las Vegas Raiders: $6.2 billion.

7. New York Jets: $6.1 billion.

8. Washington Commanders: $6.05 billion.

9. San Francisco 49ers: $6 billion.

10. Philadelphia Eagles: $5.9 billion.
