PITTSBURGH, PA —The coronavirus outbreak is ending a 54-year summer tradition and undoubtedly leaving Steelers fans unhappy. For the first time since 1966, the team will not hold its training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

The decision was not made by the Steelers. The NFL has ordered all teams to train at their practice facilities, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

The decision is a blow to thousands of fans who typically make the pilgrimage to Latrobe to watch the team's practices and collect autographs from players. It's also a blow to Latrobe-area restaurants such as Sharky's or Dino's, where fans frequently stop to and from St. Vincent.

Presumably, two other training camp fan favorites will be scuttled this year - Friday Night Lights at Latrobe Memorial Stadium and Steelers Family Fest at Heinz Field.
