Storms, Flooding Possible For Pittsburgh Area

The National Weather Service is predicting a rough weather day for Pittsburgh on Thursday.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Soaking rain is expected today and tonight in Western Pennsylvania, with totals reaching 0.75 to 1.25". According to the National Weather Service, locally higher amounts of 1.5 inches or greater cannot be ruled out, with possible flooding in urban and low-lying areas - particularly south of the city.

Thunderstorms also are possible today and tonight until 1 a.m. on Friday.

Today's high temperature will be 49 and Friday's will be 48. Expect colder weather for the weekend, however. Saturday's expected high temperature is only 33.

The cold snap will be short-lived. According to the weather service, Monday's high temperature will be 47 and by Tuesday expect temperatures in the mid-50s.
