Student Killed In 16-Story Plunge Was Duquesne Football Player
The university has released additional details on the fatal incident.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Duquesne University has identified the student who plummeted 16 stories to his death Thursday night as Marquis Brown, a junior running back for the university football team.
A statement from university president Ken Gormley said that Brown jumped from a 16th floor window of Brottier Hall in the 700 block of Forbes Avenue after campus police responded to a reported disturbance. Brown was taken to UPMC Mercy, which is located next to the campus, where he died.a short time later.
“Please join me in praying for Marquis, his family and his many friends and teammates during this time of great sadness for the entire campus community,” Gormley said.”May he rest in peace.”

Brown, who hailed from Washington, D.C., was a student in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts
Counselors have been made available to students, faculty or staff members in need of support. Spiritan Campus Ministry staff has also been made available. Additionally, counselors are reaching out to students around the campus, Gormley said.

An on-campus memorial service for Brown is being planned and likely will take place Sunday.
