Taylor Swift's Pittsburgh Shows Generated Tens Of Millions For Area

Tourism agency Visit Pittsburgh has released financial figures from Taylor Swift's recent shows at Acrisure Stadium.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Taylor Swift's two recent Pittsburgh concerts generated $46 million for the local economy, tourism agency Visit Pittsburgh announced Wednesday.

Between spending on hotels, restaurants, retail, transportation and attractions, out-of-town concert attendees spent $42.9 million. Another $3 million was generated in state and local sales tax revenues.

"The Taylor Swift weekend confirms Pittsburgh’s reputation as a world-class host and destination," Visit Pittsburgh President and CEO Jerad Bachar said in a statement.

According to Visit Pittsburgh, 83 percent of visitors came from outside of Allegheny County for the June 16 and 17 concerts. City hotel occupancy was reported at 95 percent and the average daily room rates more than doubled to $309.
