PITTSBURGH, PA — It was the inescapable story this past week. No matter where you received your news and information from, you could not run and hide from the Taylor Swift-Ticketmaster debacle.
The story is well-known at this point. Ticketmaster's computers were overwhelmed during a pre-sale event for verified Swift fans ahead of concert ticket sales to the general public. So overwhelmed were they that Ticketmaster was forced to cancel the general public sale. The move left teen girls and their mothers now facing the prospect of paying a scalper's ransom for tickets sobbing.
No one liked Ticketmaster before this concert ticket catastrophe. Now the company is loathed and perhaps facing government inquiries as to what went wrong.
