TCC Gives Donated $8,800 to Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania

Verizon Authorized Retailer, TCC, makes a difference through Community Grants

Chase, who is diagnosed with leukemia, is an 11-year-old history buff with dreams of seeing Pearl Harbor. On Saturday, Dec. 14, Chase and his family attended Light Up a Child’s Life, an event where families and donors share stories of Make-A-Wish’s impact on WISH 99.7. Chase believed he was receiving a check on behalf of Make-A-Wish during the event, but the check presentation revealed a plane ticket to Hawaii and that his Wish has been granted and sponsored by TCC Gives.

TCC Gives is a corporate giving initiative committed to strengthening communities. Proceeds for TCC Gives in part support its Community Grants initiative. Grants up to $10,000 are awarded quarterly based on TCC employees' and customers' passions. TCC Regional Director Tony Chiancone sponsored the TCC Gives Grant in August 2018 that was funded for Make-A-Wish. In total, TCC Gives has sponsored 13 Wishes since 2014, valued at $57,200, and the initiative recently surpassed $1.9 million in donations to local nonprofits.

Chiancone’s community grant will ultimately sponsor two child’s Wishes, and the Pittsburgh community has continued to rally around his support of the organization. The store held another fundraiser in January of this year at Top Golf which raised an additional $4,400, the average amount required to grant a child’s wish.
