15-Year-Old Girl Killed In Western PA School Bus Crash Identified

The incident occurred Wednesday morning in Allegheny County.

DRAVOSBURG, PA — The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the student killed in a school bus-vehicle collision on Wednesday. Samantha Kalkbrenner, 15, died at the scene.

The crash involving Serra Catholic High School students, occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The driver of the bus and vehicle both were taken to the hospital and are in critical condition.

Three students were injured and were taken to the hospital listed in stable condition.

The county police department's Homicide and Collision Reconstruction units' preliminary investigation shows the school van was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Richland Avenue when it was struck by a Volkswagon Jetta GTI traveling northbound on Richland Avenue.
