Ten Essential March Events Around Pittsburgh

From comedy shows to concerts to home and garden shows, March has plenty to offer.

PITTSBURGH, PA - February admittedly was a little light on arts and entertainment options around town. But with spring on the horizon, the number of entertaining activities around town will dramatically increase.

Here are 10 events sure to draw sellout crowds. Unless you’re a complete homebody, chances are you’ll want to attend one or more of them:

  • Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show, March 1-10, David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

With spring on the horizon, here’s a chance to shop a marketplace that’s 10 acres in size and has more than 1,800 exhibits in the 38th annual home and garden show. You’ll find a garden pavilion, construction and remodeling center, home interior galleries, kitchen and cooking collection, children’s village and more.

  • Shen Yun, March 5-7, 7:30 p.m., Benedum Center.

Shen Yun invites you to travel back to the world of ancient China, experience a lost culture through the incredible art of classical Chinese dance and see legends come to life. Shen Yun offers a unique blend of costuming, high-tech backdrops and orchestration.

  • Jerry Seinfeld, March 8, 7 p.m., Benedum Center.

One of America’s premier comedians will perform his signature stand-up routine. In addition to the classic “Seinfeld” show, his more recent projects include the Emmy-nominated web series ”Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” and his Netflix special “Jerry Before Seinfeld.”

  • WWE Raw Live, March 11, 7:30 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.

WWE Returns to Pittsburgh on the Road to WrestleMania. You’ll find Seth Rollins versus Dean Ambrose in the Intercontinental Championship Match, as well as more of your favorite wrestling stars such as Ronda Rousey, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley, Elias Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and more.

  • Mumford and Sons, March 14, 7:30 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.

The British folk band is touring in support of its latest album “Delta.” Mumford and Sons emerged in 2009 with a debut album, “Sigh No More,” which went multi-platinum, thanks to hit singles like "Little Lion Man." The band followed that up with “Babel” and “Wilder Mind,” the former of which contained the monster hit “I Will Wait.”

  • Alabama, March 15, 7:30 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.

Winning more than 200 industry awards, the Country Music Hall of Fame band is the most celebrated group in country music history. After first going out on the road when Richard Nixon was president, the supergroup is in the middle of its 50th anniversary tour and are playing hits such as “Dixieland Delight,” “Angels Among Us” and “Mountain Music.”

  • Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade, March 16, 10 a.m., Downtown.

By far one of the biggest events of the year. Pittsburgh has the second largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade and this year more than 23,000 participants are expected. They’ll be viewed by several hundred thousands of people lining the streets along the parade route. When the parade ends, head to Market Square for the family-friendly Irish Fair in the Square.

  • Mariah Carey Caution World Tour, March 18, 8 p.m., Benedum Center.

The multi-platinum selling, multiple Grammy Award winner is touring in support of her15th album “Caution,” featuring the hits “The Distance,” “With You,” and “GTFO.” Carey has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and has had 18 Billboard Hot 100 number one singles over the years.

  • Pittsburgh Bridal Showcase, March 24, 12 p.m., David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

More than 200 Pittsburgh wedding experts will feature every service imaginable for planning a wedding, reception and honeymoon. If you’re about to be married, you’ll find a spacious area to browse, shop and compare all of your wedding needs under one roof.

  • Kiss, March 30, 7:30 p.m., PPG Paints Arena.

After nearly a half-century of wearing their famous makeup onstage, the legendary rockers have embarked on the first dates on their “End of the Road” farewell tour, which began i January in Vancouver. Expect to hear classics such as “Detroit Rock City,” “Lick It Up,” and, of course, “Rock and Roll All Nite.”
