PITTSBURGH, PA — You're in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving dinner and you realize you need cornstarch to thicken the gravy for that delicious turkey roasting in the oven. Oh no! What do you do?
In the Pittsburgh area, your options will be limited on Thanksgiving Day.
Some groceries will be open, albeit with limited hours. Most, however, will be shuttered for the holiday. Here's a list of what's open and closed in Southwestern Pennsylvania:

- Giant Eagle, Market District, GetGo: After initially announcing that stores would be open until 3 p.m., the region's largest grocery store chain announced the locations would be closed.
- Kuhn's: All locations will be closed.
- Rite Aid: Most Rite Aid stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but hours will vary depending upon location.
- Shop'n Save: Some stores are open; hours will vary. For specific stores, click on the link.
- Walgreens: Most stores and 24-hour pharmacies will be open during regular business hours. Select pharmacies will be open with modified hours. Customers are encouraged to check their local store hours before heading out.
- Whole Foods: Stores will be open on Thanksgiving, but hours may be limited and will vary by location.
