Three Rivers Arts Festival Moving To New Location

PITTSBURGH, PA — After decades in Point State Park, the 63rd annual Dollar Bank Three Rivers
Arts Festival will be staged entirely in the city Cultural District this year announced Tuesday. The event, running June 3-12, remains free and open to everyone.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, which stages the event, said that the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has new regulations that make holding the festival in Point State Park impossible. The trust did not detail the rule changes.

At its new location, the event will be anchored by a pop-up park at Eighth Street and Penn Avenue. Musical acts, a traditional highlight of the 10-day festival, will be announced next month, cultural trust officials said.

Other than the location, cultural trust officials said little will change regarding the festival. Expect 10 headlining music concerts on the Dollar Bank Main Stage, regional music and dance performances on multiple outdoor stages, public art installations, multiple indoor gallery exhibitions, the annual visual art exhibition and a market featuring hundreds of artists.
