Tornado Watch Issued For Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Pittsburgh and all of Western Pennsylvania and until 8 p.m.

Thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes, heavy rain, damaging wind gusts of as high as 70 mph and quarter-sized hail are possible.

A previously issued Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the Pittsburgh area until 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The extremely large Tornado Watch area extends north to Erie; east to Harrisburg, south to Morgantown, WV and west past Akron, OH.
