Tree Of Life Synagogue Memorial Moving
The massive memorial honoring the 11 congregants shot to death last month is being moved indoors.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The makeshift memorial that sprung up outside the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill in the wake of last month’s murder of 11 congregants will be moved indoors this week.
The memorial - eleven Stars of David, each bearing a victim’s name, surrounded by abundant flowers, stones and other items - will be taken inside Tree of Life’s main lobby on Wednesday. Visitors will be able to view it through the synagogue’s glass doors but will not be permitted into the building, the synagogue announced in a release.
The memorial is being moved because of weather, traffic and possible vandalism concerns. Many of the materials the compose it will be catalogued and preserved in the Rauh Jewish History Program and Archives at the Senator John Heinz History Center in the Strip District.
