Trump To Attend Funeral Of Firefighter Slain At Rally: Report
Donald Trump will attend the funeral of the man who died in the assassination attempt against the ex-president, a published report said.

BUTLER, PA — Donald Trump reportedly will attend Friday's funeral for firefighter Corey Comperatore, the man killed in the assassination attempt against the former president last weekend.
Trump plans to attend the private service for Comperatore, the New York Post reported Wednesday afternoon. The Post cited an unnamed person close to Trump for the information.
Campaign officials for Trump, who is scheduled accept the nomination for president at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Thursday, did not immediately confirm the appearance.

Comperatore, 50, of Sarver, a former volunteer fire company chief, died while attempting to shield his family when a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler County on Saturday. Trump suffered a wound to his ear; two other men were seriously injured.
The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, was shot and killed by a U.S. Secret Service agent.

Earlier this week, Trump spoke over the phone to Comperatore's widow, Helen.
Visitation for Comperatore will occur Thursday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Laube Hall on Community Park Road in Freeport.
