WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump disparaged U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb in two tweets Monday and Tuesday while also making a blatantly false claims about the western Pennsylvania Democrat.

In endorsing Lamb's presumptive Republican opponent in the general election, Sean Parnell, Trump falsely claimed that Lamb had voted for U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi for House speaker. That isn't true. Lamb, elected to the House in 2018, was one of 15 Democratic representatives who did not vote for Pelosi as speaker in January 2019.

Trump initially made the false claim on Memorial Day, misspelling the congressman's name as "Connor Lamm." Lamb responded with a tweet of his own.
