Two Veteran Pittsburgh TV Reporters To Be Honored

A WPXI-TV reporter and a retired KDKA-TV reporter are being honored by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Two veteran Pittsburgh broadcasters are about to be inducted into the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Silver Circle Society. Former KDKA-TV reporter Ralph Iannotti and WPXI-TV reporter Renee Wallace will be inducted

The Silver Circle Society recognizes individuals who have outstanding service in broadcasting for a minimum of 25 years, with the majority of it being spent in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter.

Iannotti retired last year after spending nearly four decades at KDKA, where he estimated he covered about 11,000 stories. He previously received a distinguished service award from the 2,000-member Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association in recognition of his work with Western Pennsylvania police agencies.

Wallace has been at WPXI since 1995. The Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduate previously worked at WEAR-TV in Pensecola, Florida.

Other Silver Circle inductees this year include Carl Abraham, news Ddrector at WNEP in Moosic; Charlene Horne, editor and supervisor at CBS3 in Philadelphia; Brad Nau, photographer at CBS3 in Philadelphia; Dave Rupp, photographer at WGAL in Lancaster and Vai Sikahema, morning news anchor at NBC10 in Philadelphia.

“It is our pleasure to honor these seven professionals who have kept us informed and engaged in local news for so many years," academy chapter president Eric Heisler said in a statement. "Their dedication to the broadcast industry is inspiring."
