Uber Begins Food Delivery Service In Pittsburgh Area

Food from nearly 100 city and suburban restaurants is available via the UberEats app.

PITTSBURGH, PA - UberEats officially launched in Pittsburgh on Thursday, providing further competition in a market already crowded with food delivery services. The ride-sharing company has partnered with nearly 100 city and suburban restaurants to deliver meals to your door for a $4.99 charge.

UberEats can be downloaded on the Apple App or Google Play stores. Customers can enter the PITTEATS code at checkout and get $10 off their first order. The app does not allow people to add a tip to their orders.

UberEats will be in competition with local food delivery services such as Happy Bellies and WheelDeliver, as well as national ones such as Yelp's Eat24 , OrderUp, Postmates and, Grubhub.

Pittsburgh is now one of 80 cities where UberEats is available.
