PITTSBURGH, PA — A former Pittsburgh Public Schools elementary school teacher was acquitted Friday on charges of sexually assaulting a student multiple times in a classroom.

James Ziegler, 42, an ex-teacher at Faison K-5 school in the city's Point Breeze section, allegedly assaulted a boy during lunchtime detentions.

Ziegler last year was charged Friday with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, institutional sexual assault of a minor, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.
