PITTSBURGH, PA — After a two-month absence, AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh again is available to Pittsburgh-area Verizon Fios customers. The sports channel that carries Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins games returned on Tuesday, Verizon announced.

Verizon dropped the channel at the end of September, when its agreement to carry it expired. Verizon contended at the time that AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh was demanding a significant increase to an already high rate so fans could continue watching the channel.

But in a news release Tuesday, Verizon announced it had reached a long-term agreement with AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh to relaunch the channel to its southwestern Pennsylvania customers.
