Veteran Pittsburgh Radio Personality Dies

PITTSBURGH, PA —Mike Romigh, a Pittsburgh radio presence whose voice was heard on multiple radio stations in Western Pennsylvania for decades, has died.

Romigh, 67, died Saturday at UPMC Shadyside after battling a blood disorder. His death was announced by Beaver County Radio (WBVP-FM and WMBA-FM), where he had most recently worked.

“We are absolutely devastated to hear about Mike’s passing," Beaver County Radio General Manager Frank Sparks said in a statement on the stations' web site.

"He was such an inspiration to us all and a key part of the resurgence of Beaver County Radio over the last few years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Romigh Family at this devastating time.”

Romigh perhaps is best known for spending more than a decade as the evening talk show host at KDKA-AM in Pittsburgh. But his career also included stops at WFEM-FM in Ellwood City, WWKS-FM and previous stints at WBVP and WMBA.

His latest stint with Beaver County Radio began in 2022. He stepped away from the stations last year due to health reasons.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Beaver Falls.
