Video Purportedly Shows Roaches In Popular Pittsburgh Restaurant
Dead roaches were found in the eatery during its last health inspection.
PITTSBURGH, PA - A video taken by a former employee at the Caliente Pizza & Draft House in Bloomfield purportedly shows roaches in a tray of fries and in the kitchen. The video was posted Thursday on WPXI-TV’s website.
Caliente management told WPXI that the video came from a disgruntled former employee. The person who provided the video said he quit because of working conditions and lack of hours.
Allegheny County Health Department inspectors visited Caliente in August and observed mouse droppings in the back prep area, along a wall for the walk-in cooler, around a mixer, and along the wall next to the back door. Inspectors also found dead roaches on sticky traps below the sink at the bar.

Inspectors considered those violations low-risk and did not issue a consumer alert for the restaurant.
Caliente’s other locations are in Mt. Lebanon, Hampton and Aspinwall.
