Warhol Anniversary, Boo And Brew Top Pittsburgh Weekend Events

PITTSBURGH, PA - Since its opening in 1994, the Andy Warhol Museum has become a global destination for Warhol’s life, art and relevance to contemporary culture. In honor of its 25th Anniversary, the museum will host a gala event on Oct. 19.
The anniversary celebration also includes the opening of a special exhibition, Andy Warhol: Revelation, a contemporary art auction, late night dance party with guest DJ, and a free community day on Sunday Oct. 20th.

- The Office! A Musical Parody, Oct. 18-19, Byham Theater, Downtown
Singing! Dancing! Paper! It's a typical morning at Scranton's third largest paper company until, for no logical reason, a documentary crew begins filming the lives of the employees of Dunder Mifflin. This unauthorized parody of the hit TV show "The Office," featuring songs such as "Welcome to Scranton (The Electric City)," "That's What She Said," "The Dundies," "Marry Me Beesly," and more.

Join the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy for an evening of family-friendly activities. You’ll get to . see and learn about nocturnal animals, sit around a campfire, carve a pumpkin, make luminaria and go on a night walk. Enjoy refreshments, cookies and a musical performance by Family Arts Theatre before heading home with your carved pumpkin.

This Make-A-Wish benefit is a Halloween-themed bar crawl that offers classic brews and signature cocktails followed by late-night bites at the official after-party. The bar roster includes Howl at the Moon, Seven, Stuff’d and August Henry’s Pittsburgh’s Burger Bar. The after-party will be at Social House.
- Happy Hauntings, Oct. 19 and 20, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Kennywood
Happy Hauntings continues its third season of kid-friendly Halloween fun, as Thomas Town has been redecorated for the fall and includes a new live show, Steel City Adventure. Other attractions include a hayride through the Lost Kennywood section of the park, hay maze and trick or treat trail through a vampire’s abandoned mansion. Classic Kennywood attractions like the Potato Patch, and Jack Rabbit will be joined by the 4D Theater, showing an immersive short film, Older siblings and more adventurous youngsters at least 48 inches tall can also enjoy the new Steel Curtain coaster.
