Western PA Man Facing Numerous Arson Charges
Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Western Pennsylvania man with arson and other alleged offenses.
INDIANA, PA — An Indiana man has been charged with 17 felony counts of arson and related offenses, causing or risking catastrophe and criminal mischief. He also was charged with misdemeanor counts of arson and recklessly endangering another person.
Pennsylvania State Police said the charges were filed against Kailum Jamal Miller, 28.
Shortly before midnight on Feb. 12, Indiana County 911 dispatched multiple volunteer fire departments to a fire at 310 Maple Street in White Township. The fire, which occurred in an unoccupied apartment, was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.

Upon investigation, Miller, who was known to be living alone in the apartment, was identified as the suspect. With assistance from the Indiana Borough Police Department, Miller was located and taken into custody.
Police said Miller intentionally started the fire with a small lighter, which he used to ignite a bare mattress and a coat. He then left the apartment and fled the area on foot.

Miller currently is being housed in the Indiana County Jail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 27.
