McKEESPORT, PA — State Rep. Austin Davis on Tuesday announced he is running for the Democratic lieutenant governor's nomination. Davis has been endorsed by state Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who launched his own campaign for governor last year.

" With Josh Shapiro's support, we're going to make sure working Pennsylvanians don't just get by — but have the opportunity to get ahead," Davis said in a Facebook post declaring his candidacy.

Since 2018, Davis has represented the 35th Legislative District in Allegheny County, which includes the Mon Valley communities of Clairton, Duquesne, Lincoln, McKeesport, Munhall, Versailles, part of West Mifflin, Whitaker and White Oak.
