White Supremacist Indicted For Pgh. Synagogue Massacre Threats

A man was detained after being accused of threatening participants in the recent trial of Tree of Life synagogue killer Robert Bowers.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A former Pittsburgh resident has been detained after his indictment on threatening witnesses and juror in the recent trial of Tree of Life synagogue killer Robert Bowers.

Hardy Lloyd, age 45, of Follansbee, WV, was indicted Tuesday on charges on charges of obstruction of the due administration of justice, transmitting threats in interstate and foreign commerce, and witness tampering.

jury and witnesses during the trial. The legal proceeding resulted in the death penalty for Bowers, who murdered 11 congregants at the synagogue during an Oct. 2018 rampage.

Lloyd also placed or had others place stickers in predominantly Jewish areas of Pittsburgh, directing people to the website containing his threats and antisemitic messages.

Lloyd faces up to 20 years in prison for the tampering charge, 10 years in prison for the obstruction charge and five years for the threats charge.

Lloyd was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending an October trial.
