The Donut Fest competition is about to make its first stop here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Western Pennsylvania has numerous places to buy a delicious doughnut, but which one makes the tastiest? The answer to that will come Saturday, when some of the best restaurants and bakeries will compete for the title of best doughnut.

Donut Fest, as its organizers spell it, will make its first stop in Pittsburgh Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church on North Dithridge Street in Oakland. The event is not just a competition, but a chance for people to taste the entries in the contest.

Attendees will get roughly a quarter-of a doughnut serving size sample from each participant. Coffee samples also will be available. Doughnuts and coffee will be available for purchase to take home.
