Who Is Your All-Time Favorite Pittsburgh Disc Jockey?

To mark National Disc Jockey Day, Patch poses this question.

PITTSBURGH, PA - National Disc Jockey Day occurs every January 20 to commemorate the death date of Alan Freed, one of the nation’s early influential DJs. Freed is credited with popularizing the term “rock and roll” while working at radio stations in Akron, Cleveland and New York in the 1950s.

Pittsburgh has had numerous talented DJs since Freed coined that term. Given that today is meant to honor them, it’s an appropriate time to ask: Who is your all-time favorite DJ and why?

Let Patch know in the comments section or via social media. Below is a list for your consideration of some of the most well-known Pittsburgh DJs over the years, but it hardly is inclusive; if your favorite is not included here, no slight was intended.
