Wierton resident wins $10K, donates $10K to Make-A-Wish WV/PA
After winning $10,000, Casey made a $10,000 donation to Make-A-Wish
Weirton, VA resident Casey S. was named the winner of TCC’s Get10Give10 program in November. She was awarded a total of $20,000 – $10,000 for her and $10,000 for her to give to the nonprofit of her choice. Casey chose Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia to receive the $10,000.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, Casey’s donation was announced as a surprise during a wish reveal for 11-year-old Chase, a Make-A-Wish kid diagnosed with leukemia. Chase accepted the check, along with another $8,800 donation from TCC Gives on behalf of Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia this month for a total of $18,800. In total, TCC Gives has sponsored 13 Wishes since 2014, valued at $57,200, and the initiative recently surpassed $1.9 million in donations to local nonprofits.
