Woman Dies After Being Shot In The Face In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman died after being shot in the Strip District Sunday night.

Just after 10:40 p.m. Pittsburgh police were dispatched to the intersection of 27th Street and Liberty Avenue for a reported shooting.

Arriving units found a female down and unresponsive on the sidewalk with a single gunshot wound to the face. Officers performed CPR until Pittsburgh EMS arrived and took her to the hospital in critical condition,. She died a short time later.

The victim has been identified as La'Eva Morrison, 34.

Three people were detained and taken to police headquarters for questioning by Violent Crime Unit detectives. It's unclear if any of them will face criminal charges.
