WTAE-TV Losing Veteran Meteorologist
One of WTAE's weather forecasters is heading south for a new TV job.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WTAE-TV weekend meteorologist Cam Tran is leaving the station to join Hearst sister station WESH-TV in Orlando, FL.
“Cam brings a strong sense of purpose and a wealth of experience covering all types of severe weather," WESH news director Kirsten Wolff said in a news release. "She will be a great addition to our First Alert Weather Team."
Said Tran: “My goal is and will always be to keep people safe from any potentially dangerous weather. I look forward to bringing my experience to the WESH 2 First Alert Weather team."

Tran's departure from the 5 a.m.-7 a.m. and 8 a.m.-10 a.m. weekend shift could open the door for former KDKA chief meteorologist Jeff Verszyla to work more consistently for the station. Verszyla, who worked for KDKA for 23 years before his abrupt dismissal in December 2018, has been doing fill-in forecasting work at WTAE since September.
