Yinzer Holiday Cards, Bars Return To Pittsburgh Store Shelves
Find out here where to find the Pittsburgh-themed holiday cards and candy bars.
PITTSBURGH, PA - With the holiday season in full swing, the distinctly Pittsburgh Yinzer holiday greeting cards and candy bars have returned. They're available at Pittsburgh-area Giant Eagle, Market District, GetGo, Kuhn's Market and Hallmark stores and the Heinz History Center and Visit Pittsburgh gift shops.
The Yinzer Bars feature a Rudolph The Reindeer Stiller, a black and gold trimmed Christmas tree, and a nod to Santa’s holiday parking. They're manufactured by Canonsburg-based Sarris Candies and cost $2.99 each and $9.99 for a three-pack gift box; proceeds will benefit Spenser’s Voice Fund, a non-profit organization working to curb the drug epidemic in young adults.
“From gift-giving to decorating, the Christmas-themed Yinzer Bars are the perfect item for every Pittsburgh household,” said Pittsburgh comedian and former Jim Krenn, who created the Yinzer bars and cards along with KDKA-AM morning personality Larry Richert and cartoonist Rob Rogers.

One milk chocolate bar depicts the classic Pittsburgh parking chair but in this rendition it’s “reserved for Santa” next to a roof top chimney. A second pays tribute to Pittsburgh as the City of Black & Gold with an appropriately decorated Christmas tree trimmed in black and gold, while the third celebrates the remaining football season and features Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer dressed in black and gold football gear with uniform number two.
One of the cards features Pittsburgh’s iconic symbol of a chair on the roof next to the chimney “saving a spot for Santa.” Another pokes fun at Penn Dot’s expense with their closure of the “Liberty Tubes” while in a third Santa tells the elves about his “buddy Ronnie up ‘er in Butler” who has a venison stew recipe “that’ll knock your socks off” as apprehensive reindeer outside the window listen in. A fourth holiday card acknowledges Pittsburgh’s love for the black and gold as a Christmas tree sports bulbs with the steel mark.
