Today's riddle: What has 2 arms and a neck but no head? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Spring 2027 trials likely for two alleged human traffickers (timesleader.com) — Residents of Plains Township should know that two men accused of forcing women into prostitution at local motels are now likely headed for separate trials in early 2027. State prosecutors say the alleged trafficking at Plains Township locations ran from 2021 through 2023, and both defendants remain jailed as their attorneys prepare motions and defenses.
• Local unemployment rate continues slight decline (standardspeaker.com) — If you live or work in Plains Township, the latest jobs report brings modestly good news: unemployment in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, including Luzerne County, edged down again in July. Both the regional and statewide labor forces hit record highs, with more people employed and fewer unemployed compared with last month and last year.
