Garden Club of Oakmont Creates Scholarship

The Garden Club of Oakmont has created a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

Applications currently are being accepted for the 2012 scholarship. Applicants must be residents of Oakmont or Verona and interested in furthering their education in the field of horticultural, environmental or agricultural studies.

Applications will be accepted from both traditional and non-traditional students of any age and gender. The award will be based on overall evaluation of academic performance, school or community activities, volunteerism, work history and a demonstrated desire to pursue study in the areas described above.

Completed applications should be mailed to Garden Club of Oakmont, Attn: Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 404, Oakmont, PA 15139. The deadline for submission is March 30.

The recipient will be announced in May.
