Power Outages Reported in 15147 ZIP Code

Several residents in the 15147 ZIP code (shared by Verona and Penn Hills) are without power. 

A string of strong thunderstorms swept through the area just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Duquesne Light, 900 customers in the ZIP code are without power as of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Approximately 3,900 customers are out of service after the afternoon's violent thunderstorms blew through the area with wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.  

Crews expect the majority of customers to be back in service Tuesday into Wednesday or Wednesday morning.
