Colonial Middle School Student Organizing ‘Bark at Miles Park’
Jessica Valentine will raise money for the ASPCA as part of her mitzvah project.
Colonial Middle School Sixth-Grader Jessica Valentine is organizing a dog walk and family fun afternoon at Miles Park on May 5, Jessica’s Bark at Miles Park, as part of her mitzvah project at Beth Tikvah B’Nai Jeshurun.
Valentine is working towards her goal of raising $2,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and the Bark at Miles Park will offer a fun way for residents to support the cause.

“Judaism emphasizes proper treatment of animals,” says the event website. “Unnecessary cruelty to animals is strictly forbidden – Those who care for animals are heroes.”
The event, which will begin at 1:30 p.m., will feature food, activities and raffles. The owner of each dog is asked to provide at least a $10 donation towards the ASPCA.
