Dick's, Burlington, Edge Fitness Coming To Plymouth Meeting Mall
A major expansion is coming to the Plymouth Meeting Mall, bringing in Dick's Sporting Goods, Burlington Coat Factory, and Edge Fitness.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — The Plymouth Meeting Mall's rebirth continues.
Dick's Sporting Goods, Burlington Coat Factory, and Edge Fitness have all signed new leases with the mall as part of a major expansion, the mall's owner, Preit, announced recently.
The three new stores will be located inside of the old Macy's store, which is being redeveloped. Macy's closed their Plymouth Meeting location as part of a nationwide closure of 68 stores back in Jan. 2017.

The announcement is just the latest growth for the mall, which has found new life under its "retailtainment" and "lifestyle destination" branding. After the Macy's closure seemed to foretell a scaling back in Plymouth Meeting - the larger and more famous King of Prussia Mall is, after all, just a few miles away - things took a notable turn upward when it was announced that Legoland Discovery Center would bring their first Pennsylvania location to the mall.

Since then, the mall has invested in entertainment experiences and family oriented programs. 5 Wits, escape room style entertainment, opened last year. They've also added Cycle bar, an indoor cycling studio, a Build-a-Bear kiosk, Busy Bees Pottery and Arts Studio, and more. That's in addition to the existing AMC movie theater and Whole Foods, along with four restaurants.
"Plymouth Meeting Mall is a posterchild for the new mall paradigm having integrated entertainment, dining, grocery, fitness and an array of soft goods into our roster, driving unique visitors to the mall regularly," said Joseph Coradino, the CEO of Preit, in a statement. "With our proactive and strategic remerchandising efforts, including the redevelopment of the mall’s anchor space, we have changed the definition of the ‘mall’ which we believe charts the course for the future of the industry."
Stores like Dick's and Burlington, however, are major cornerstone tenants that indicate a larger scale expansion for the mall. Preit said in a news release that they were aiming have all three new tenants open by the spring of 2019.
In addition, Phoenix Salon Suites is expected to open later in 2018.
